The Sports Fan

There was a weasel who lived in Yorkshire, England. His name was Buck. Buck the Weasel, people called him. Some of his better friends called him Bucky, but when strangers referred to him as such he would go ape. Anyway, one day Buck decided to take a train over to Warwickshire to see some Cricket matches, because his favourite player was over there. Brian Lara was his fave, and he hoped to meet the great batsman from Tobago. That's how his great adventure began.

Unfortunately Brian has missed the train to Warwickshire, so was not there. Buck was so upset that he gave up watching cricket and became a hockey fan (ice hockey, that is). His hockey hero was Wayne Gretzky -- but Wayne had retired. So poor Buck became a basketball fan. He wanted to cheer for Michael Jordan, but he too had retired.

He went to see what golf was like, but before he got there, he saw something shiny. A key! Then some man named Bob trod on him and made him squeal.

"Oh, dear," said Bob, "I'm ever so sorry! Here, let me make it up to you -- I was just on my way to a ping pong tournament, and I'll be happy to take you with me." Buck scooped up the key as Bob scooped up Buck, and they headed over to the local university.

A very sad student walked by mumbling something about losing the match, no, wait, losing a key and cancelling the match!

"Well, we've obviously arrived at just the right time. Here's the key you need. Let the match begin!"
